Calvin Photography is all about weddings. They choose not to shoot anything else because for them, weddings encompass the best of life, love and family. Dean says he's done other types of photography, "But for me, weddings are the most enjoyable." Erin admitted "I feel blessed when I'm allowed to help capture such a personal and momentous occasion for a couple. Like a love poem coming to life." So for the eight years this photo duo has been working together, they've kept their cameras focused in on local brides and grooms.

 

A few of our favourite things...

One of our favourite things about Calvin Photography is that when Erin and Dean aren't editing photos, or meeting with couples, they're photographing weddings together. This means that when you book Calvin Photography, you're automatically getting two professional and experienced photographers for your wedding. While you can often get two photographers (a main photographer with an assistant), it's rare to have two experienced pro shooters at your side on your wedding day. "We’re strong as a team. Together, we are able to capture every moment that matters."

 

Judith Koeller and John Smirnios said it was the personality that they loved most about their photos, "Those shots speak volumes about us and our family and friends... John wiping his tears, John's dad playing bazouki, my nieces playing croquet, the Scottish guests in kilts and my aunts singing along with the band..."

Erin and Dean told The Ring that they provide detailed coverage that's perfect for the bride who has spent countless hours carefully planning out each element of her wedding. "We work with many brides who are detail-oriented, organized and want specific things captured in their photos," they told us. "Our brides have planned this to be a wedding day to remember, and we are there to document that dedication and planning, from the dress to the flowers to the font chosen for the invitations, we capture it all."

 

When we asked Erin and Dean what words best described their style, they both agreed on authenticity and romance. "We capture the true elegance and beauty of each wedding to create a collection of artistic images that is as unique as the couple."

 

Commissioning your wedding

Each commission starts with a minimum five hours of coverage, digital negatives, and an online gallery for proofing and print ordering for $2000. Options include reception coverage with a slideshow presentation, an engagement session, custom designed albums, and thank you cards.

 

Things to keep in mind

Erin and Dean believe that a wedding album is more than simply a collection of photos. It is a family heirloom that continues to tell the story of your wedding for years to come. "Each wedding album we create is custom designed to suit the couple, using only the finest quality albums available," they told The Ring. They can create one for you starting at $1000.

 

For clients who choose reception coverage, Dean and Erin create a beautiful slideshow presentation of the day's images for your guests to enjoy. Your guests will feel like they tagged along for your photoshoot!

• To book Calvin Photography, there is a deposit of $1000 (non-refundable).

• The balance of your package price is due 14 days prior to the wedding.

• Erin and Dean typically shoot about 20 weddings per year and because they shoot all weddings together their schedule fills up fast... you should book at least 1 year in advance, but give them a call to see if they are available for your wedding date.
