Bridal Showers
"Hi
There, Recently my bridesmaids have been talking about hosting my
shower. I was only planning on one shower but I have my fiancees
family that are out of town. My maid of honor has said that most
brides have two or more showers (work, brides family, grooms
family). I was curious as to what is the norm. If I invite everyone
to one shower many will not attend due to the distance involved. It
would also make for one big shower. What is everyone else... "

night before wedding
"I was
wondering does anyone follow tradition of not being with your
partner the day before the wedding?? FH is going to work as usual
going to kiss me and leave. I will not see him until the wedding
saturday at 3pm. That seems like a long time, he always calls from
work and he wont tomorrow (he wants to build anticipation)... "

Disappointed with a bridesmaid...
"I know
that some of you have talked about this before, but I just needed to
vent a little. I have lived all over Canada growing up so I have
friends everywhere. Two of my best friends are standing for me. One
in Winnipeg who has been awesome, and one in Nova Scotia. The one in
NS has NOT been there for me when I need her. I've talked to her
maybe 3 times since I've gotten engaged and... "

Making it her special day too.......
"I am 26
years old and had my daughter when I was 15. Her father left right
away when I was 3 mths prego, my daughter has never met him. She is
10 now and loves my FH. the three of us have been together for 4 1/2
years, living together for 3 in our owe house. In Aug 2005 we had
(our) first (my second) baby girl. So this mean MY daughter and I
have the same last name and my 2nd daughter and my FH have his last
name.... confusing! Anyway, the big change for us will be that my FH
will be adopting my first daughter and we will all then have the
same last name. She will be 11 when we marry and I am hoping to do
something special for her that day to include her... i am hoping to
get the adoption complete before the wedding (and not tell anyone -
other then my FH) and make it official at my reseption and then my
FH and daughter can have there first dance together as father and
daughter
Not sure what song to use just yet as these thoughts are fresh!...

Subject:
how I proposed!
"Hi, there! I'm new to the boards, been reading for a couple
weeks to get ideas and such. And I thought I'd like to share
our story! So, my now-fiance and I did things a little
differently. At Christmas time, he gave me a beautiful ring,
but it was meant to be a promise ring (as he did not want us
to get engaged until after I was done school next year).
Well, after that, I knew exactly where he stood, and I got
it in my head that it would be cool for me to ask him to
marry me. I was supposed to go away for teacher's college
this September so I planned to propose to him my last night
at home. However, when I realized he was not going to wait
until after I completed teacher's college, I decided I
couldn't wait. He's always treating me so amazingly, I
decided it would be my perfect way to show him how much I
loved him. I went out in April, and bought him a bracelet
and planned on doing it at the end of May, the last day we
would spend in our old apartment. However, once..."
